on tonight for two men who escaped from the newton correctional release facility stephanie: officers discovered saturday night during a routine count that michael amodeo was missing... and during a second count... it became apparent a second inmate... jessy foley was also gone. and tonight... a local organization says they know why these inmates got away.... budget cuts... local fives nikki davidson explains. nikki/bam: right the union that represents the employees at the department of corrections says theres simply not enough staffing at the facilities... they're not surprised these two men were able to escape... and they even expect more inmates will get away in the future... it wasn't long ago that danny homan was a employee for the department of corrections... he says for that reason he knows all too well what obstacles the men and women who work here face... as the current president of asfcme... the union that represents the workers...he says there are glaring problems with the system. 10:16 the department of corrections mission is to protect the public and staff, and they failed. he says a guard vehicle used to circle the perimeter of this facility.... but due to
there was not guard vehicle out here saturday when the men escaped. 13:55:21 i don't know if stopped the escape, found out about it sooner. he also says the public might be shocked at how few guards are inside some of these facilities. 8:50:27 one to 150, one to 100... it is just not a safe ratio... and thats what staff work with. both of the inmates were serving time for drug offenses... but homan says that doesn't lessen the severity of this escape... should still be on alert 9:45:27 they are on the run, what will they do to make sure they don't get caught? how hard will they fight when they get caught? and believes more problems are in store... unless something is done at a statelevel... to increase funding for the department of corrections -- and make sure that money is spent on additional staff. 6:50:03 somebody may get hurt. mabye not. i hope thats the way this turns out but everyone should be concerned. nikki/bam: now i did ask the

of came up with a contract and sign and it really was what we call a last chance agreement and its really nothing totally unique to what i expect out of most of the wrestlers but its just something for his that its relay clear what the expectations are and you stick to this and we wont have any issues. andrew wasn't arrested - but regardless, the code on conduct clearly stated he was not to consume alcohol while a student at grand view. he violated that agreement saturday evening. nick mitchell said he was made aware of the drinking and when confronted, andrew admitted to the violation. the vikings will continue their quest for a fifth straight national title this weekend at the national tournament in topeka kansas without their top ranked wrestler andrew long. - he was also set to graduate after this semester. jack/1shot: after airing
